VGA Mode not support

Our computers were working fine on Friday. I came in this
morning and there was a message on my server "VGA Mode not
support." I cannot log in, tried to reboot, same message.
We have not upgraded. We did install a wireless mouse and
keyboard on PC (we use Belkin 4 port box) last Monday, but
server was fine until now. Any suggestions?
Sounds like the monitor saying there's no video signal - or possibly an
unsupported scan rate. (Different monitors give different messages). Do you
see *anything* on the screen during the boot process? If no, that it sounds
like there's no video signal at all. You might want to check the video cable
hasn't fallen out or something silly.

Can you access the server over the network? (i.e., is the server working?)
It might be that the video card is broken/not working, but everything else
is fine...

Yes, I can see everything on the screen as it boots up and
all our programs are running that access data from the
server.
Good good :-) That would suggest that the video card isn't totally toast.
If the video card somehow broke, how do we go
about fixing? I installed new monitor last monday, maybe
that is causing a problem?
New monitor? Ah yes, that could be *exactly* what the problem is... It's
highly likely that the new monitor just can't display whatever screen mode
you're using. Change the monitor or select a different resolution/scan rate.

Thanks for your help, one more question...how do I change
settings if I cannot log into the server? The monitor
works on my PC and the terminal server, just not the NT
server (all connected to Belkin). Is there hope for this
monitor on the server?
Thanks

OK, well, when you start the machine up, there's usually a boot menu that
says something like

Windows NT Server 4.0
Windows NT Server 4.0 [VGA Only]

If you select the "VGA only" option, then hopefully you will continue to be
able to see the screen once the server finishes booting up. You can then log
in and change the video settings. If you set the resolution and/or scan rate
lower, it will hopefully work.

Good luck.

The problem with that is after boot up, my screen just
displays the VGA not support message, there is no log in
screen...however perhaps I was not choosing VGA mode...I
should see a log in screen then?
Thanks

Hopefully if you choose VGA mode you will be able to see the login screen...
(At least, it always works for me.)

If you selected VGA mode and it still won't come up... I'm not sure what
else to suggest.
