win 98, and win 2000. I t is an aztec card.Anyone know any tricks?

First check Event Viewer for any errors / conflicts, do not proceed till
you're error free then you can run winmsd to see what resources are in use
and available to use. You'll need to consult the instructions for your
device on how to change it's IRQ. Some possibilities are jumper,
manufacturer supplied device configuration utility, or sometimes at driver
installation. Sometimes it's necessary to change the IRQ for some other
device to free up the one you need.

Depending on the card you may be able to change it to an unused IRQ, or you
may have to remove it and the reinstall it. Check the instructions that came
with it. Control Panel|Multimedia, then on the "Devices" tab, expand "Audio
Devices", hilight the sound card, then "Properties", then "Settings" you may
be able to change the IRQ, I/O, DMA channels. Or if you don't have the
instructions go to the pc or card manufacturer's web site for this info.
